Factory Worker

A factory worker performs various jobs in factories. Factory workers may operate machinery to manufacture different products. They may also sort, check and pack products or work on product assembly.

You can find this position in industrial environments. Some examples of areas in which workers might be hired are canning, beverage and candy processing, dairy processing, pharmaceutical and leather industries.

Working as a Factory Worker A factory worker may have a regular working area or may do a variety of tasks as assigned. Here are some tasks factory workers might do:

Operate and monitor machinery. Sort products, do quality control to ensure they meet standards and remove defective products. Pack products in standard boxes and containers for shipment or storage purposes. Manage automated methods and temperatures for manufacturing products. Clean work areas to comply with health and safety compliance.	Assemble products or parts and send them to the next step. Inspect and select finished products. Maintain a neat and sterile plant processing environment. Operate pallet jack and forklift. Follow safety procedures to fulfill requirements and avoid accidents.
